Adult Social Care

Adult social care supports the wellbeing and independence of adults aged 18+ with a diverse range of needs, including: those with a learning disability or physical disability, mental health condition, dementia, autism, and other long-term conditions.

If there comes a time when you need support from adult social care, they aim to support you to stay independent, safe and well so you can manage your own needs and achieve the life you want to live. They will do this by focusing on the things that you can do and ways they can help you to build your strengths to do the things that you need to do.

Adult social care includes:

  • An assessment of your needs
  • Adaptations to your home, equipment and gadgets to support you to live life as independently as possible
  • Care and support at home or help to access the community
  • A direct payment to help you to arrange your own care and support
  • Different types of housing, such as supported living or extra care housing.
  • Here you will find information and advice on care, support and ways to stay as independent as possible. This may be useful for you, a loved one, a neighbour or a friend.

Adult social care covers different operational teams to meet people needs who may require their services.
