New way to book ROUTINE appointments
April 2019 the way to book an advance routine appointment will be changing. Instead of releasing a whole week of appointments on Friday at noon, we will be releasing a day at a time every day of the week.
This means that on Monday 15 April at 12 noon you will be able to book a routine appointment for Monday 29 April. On Tuesday 16th April at 12 noon you will be able to book Tuesday 30 April. And so on each day.
We hope that this will reduce the pressure on the telephones that you were experiencing on the Fridays when we used to release the appointments in one go.
We still have routine appointments available on the day, you can still call (or go online) for the on-the-day appointments that are released every day as we open.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE CHANGE THERE WILL BE NO APPOINTMENTS RELEASED ON FRIDAY 12TH APRIL 2019
|Each patient who uses eConsultation will receive a request via email to complete a survey regarding their experience of this service seven days after their eConsultation. This email survey will come from the eConsult provider not Brook Lane Surgery.
Please Note: This service is intended for our patients who are 18 or over and in the UK at the time of using e-Consult – and not those who are overseas for any reason.
The practice regrets that it cannot offer telephone or email consultations to patients who are outside of the UK, and for legal reasons we are not in a position to deal with any clinical issues involving patients who are abroad. If you are travelling abroad, you should ensure that you have adequate medical/travel insurance. In the event that you require medical assistance, you should seek a local service and inform your insurance company as appropriate.
On return from your travels, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery if you need further assistance and bring any relevant medical information relating to the episode with you.
If you’re travelling in Europe, apply for a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which may give you access to reduced cost medical treatment in Europe. For more general information about healthcare abroad, go to the NHS Choices website (www.nhs.uk) and search for ‘healthcare abroad.’
We need your views to help us transform local NHS services
The ten GP practices in Fareham, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Fareham and Gosport CCG and the voluntary sector are working together to improve NHS services in your area.
Over the last few years local people have told us that they want to see GPs and other health and social care staff working more closely together. They would also like to be able to access urgent GP appointments more easily, and to have the choice of convenient alternatives such as telephone and online consultations. Local people would also like IT services to be used more effectively so that their patient record is available to all of the professionals caring for them.
GP practices are now working together to see how they can transform local GP services and would like to hear your views in more detail to help them in this work. You can share your views by completing a quick online survey.
